“It is Time Now”

My sense is that every living being on Earth is feeling it. Whether you name it as change, collapse, transformation, evolution, or another word that points-to uncertainty, unknown, and life-threatening, something beyond-the-usual is happening in multiple arenas … on a global scale.

Naturally, these circumstances and the speed, frequency, and intensity at which they are coming feels, at the very least, unsettling, rattling, confusing, and disturbing. For humans and other living beings who have been experiencing these circumstances as part of daily life for decades or for centuries, the degree of the disruption and threat is even more heightened.

Reflecting on environmental, political, social, and economic news a few weeks ago, Charles Eisenstein said, “The initiation is intensifying.”

Where are you seeing it? How are you feeling it? What are the impacts in your life and living?

We are living within and as a sea change. For most of us, our previous anchors of well-being (“normal,” “expected,” and “counted-on”) are being dis-lodged. Maybe instead of an anchor of iron that keeps us moored in one spot at the mercy of unstable and powerful currents, what we need now is a sea anchor – a device engaged in heavy storms to create drag and slow the vessel down to keep the bow going forward and  prevent the vessel from being broadsided and overwhelmed by large waves.

We may not be choosing the changes that are arising. We do, however, have a choice in how we respond to them.

In the next few weeks, Monterey Bay Meditation Studio offers ongoing community and several opportunities for exploring ways of being in relationship with what’s going on – from a 90-minute to a 6-session course to an online retreat. We look forward to being in this time of transformation in community … with you.

It is time now.
