Virtual Movie Night of Honoring Earth

Gather with MBMS community members for an evening of sharing a very moving film and some heartfelt conversation. We will explore what spiritual activism means and how we are called to skillfully respond to the present Eco-crisis, as individuals and in community.

Watch the Trailer

At the age of 93 years, David Attenborough offers this film as a compelling “witness statement” -- images that remind us of the beauty that we have loved and that evoke our desire to protect and heal. In the end, he offers a sense of hope sourced in the possibility of conscious and effective action… taken immediately. The film is an invitation to not give up, but to get busy in service of what we love… and depend on.

Join us as we come together in community to experience this magnificent film, to discover more profoundly the miracle of life on this planet we call Home, to explore how we are inspired to respond to Earth’s calling -- individually and collectively -- and to engage the power of love. As Christine Hanna (Executive Director of Yes! Magazine) states, “Love is the force behind so many things. Love is clear-eyed acknowledgement of things as they really are. Love is holding onto a vision of something better. Love is courage to do the right thing even when it’s hard. Love is faith that things can change.”

In this month’s celebration of the “third-rock-from-the-sun,” we are consciously cultivating a relationship of reverence and reciprocity with Earth. We are exploring what it means to engage in spiritual activism and discover what we can do in the time that we have. This film invites us to bear witness and directly engage as a community to take responsibility in service of the ecosystem of which we are part.
