"We do not learn from experience…
We learn from reflecting on experience.”
— John Dewey
Life moves quickly: events fly by, one day, one week, one month after another. This year has been one to remember in many ways, and perhaps more than ever, what we imagined in January is quite different than what we have lived.
And yet, we’re still human. We're constantly changing, learning new things, taking on new habits, leaving others behind... Reflection allows us to pause, to acknowledge and investigate what is occurring. When we take time to reflect, we make meaning out of the experiences of our life.
The end of the year offers an invitation for reflection, and there is power in reflection: We look back, but the purpose is to help us in moving forward, to take our learnings with us in this moment and then the next.
What will we bring to this new year? What do we hope for? How do we want to show up in our lives, knowing what we know… and not knowing what we do not know?
Through meditation, writing, and sharing, take look at what the year has brought. With an eye toward greater well-being, begin to consider the coming year and how you’d like show up in 2021.
