Current personal and global circumstances of change, uncertainty and upheaval are powerful mindfulness bells calling us to cultivate skillful responsiveness, resilience, adaptability, and kindness.
If ever there was a need for steadiness of mind and openness of heart, it is now. “Beginning & Deepening Mindful Awareness: Conscious Response in a Changing World” is a threshold into a clear and compassionate way of being with oneself and with all beings. With decreased emotional reactivity, there is increased insight … and, with insight, we begin to see the power that we have to heal, to grow, and to connect.
Mindfulness practice cultivates our ability to:
be present (freedom from anxiety);
engage with a sense of curiosity (freedom from judgment);
develop a sense of well-being that is sourced within oneself (freedom from trying to control external circumstances).
Whether you are new to mindfulness meditation or a seasoned practitioner, this course offers an opportunity to cultivate and refresh your capacity for engagement, resiliency, and presence. Being awake to yourself and the world in this way enhances your sense of agency and conscious responsiveness to what is occurring within and all around.
Through teaching, discussion, meditation practice, and experiential exercises, this course is designed to support participants in beginning a meditation practice or deepening an existing one.
