Every day, we find ourselves engaging with unprecedented global change happening at an increasingly rapid pace and meeting circumstances that we never imagined – naturally most of us are feeling overwhelmed and, often, alone.
“We live in a time between worlds; a time of almost unbearable intensity, potential, and change.” – Zak Stein
How do we find our center when everything feels out of balance?
How do we feel connected when what we count-on disappears?
How do we cultivate a sense of peace when conflict and noise is everywhere we turn?
How do we carry-on when our world is falling apart?
Many of us, particularly in the Western culture, have grown accustomed to finding center, connection, and peace outside of ourselves rather than through connection with our inner world.
It’s no wonder that there is a pervasive feeling of being at-a-loss in a swirl of anxiety, agitation, and edginess.
Enter “Mid-week Sea Change: Pausing to Take a Breath” …
An opportunity to:
Deepen capacity for staying present and engaged,
Cultivate ability to process emotions in service of enhancing clarity and compassion;
Engage in mutual learning and support in a field of community;
Acknowledge the experience of loss and honor the grief;
Expand access to being-in-relationship with discomfort and difference in a way that enhances connection rather than a sense of separation.
We come together for a half-hour on Wednesdays to re-member the power of practicing in a group, establishing a weekly rhythm of cultivating a sense of community and belonging as we engage, together, through sharing practices of meditation, exploration, and deep listening to ourselves and each other.
On the first, third, and fourth Wednesday of the month, Marianne Rowe guides meditation practices that develop practical, beneficial responses to meeting turbulence, disruption, and uncertainty with presence, compassion, equanimity, kindness, and coherence.
On the second Wednesday of the month, Mark Skelding invites a reflection of “transpersonal qualities,” as described by Psychosynthesis founder, Robert Assagioli. Sharing our unique, embodied relationship to these ways-of-being builds connection and affirms our own meaning-making and felt-sense of values.
Every Wednesday of the month, you are invited to experience the rhythm of weekly group practice, cultivating a sense of community and belonging by tapping into the energy of the collective which arises when an experience is shared.
“Given where we are, contemplative practices must do more than offer respite and space for retreat. We need healing practices and transformative responses to issues that continue to divide our society.”
– Rev. Dr. Barbara Holmes, from Joy Unspeakable: Contemplative Practices of the Black Church.

For 25 years, Mark Skelding has been a psychotherapist, educator, and social change agent, yet profoundly curious and wonder-filled for a lifetime! All this has brought him to deep interest and excitement in regard our place in the Psychosphere at this evolutionary moment. He was once involved in communications for wildlife conservation groups, and realized that the wildlife was OK - it was people that were endangering species, habitat and, ultimately, ourselves! This, and a need to do his own therapy, led to retraining in Psychosynthesis, a transpersonal practice. He has been teaching Psychosynthesis now for over 20 years.
This course is part of the Meditation and Evolution of Consciousness Currents.
