Building Beneficial Habits

The New Year offers a time of resetting, to consider the habits that are of service and those that no longer serve. In this way, we bring the power of intention and attention to create new and supportive scaffolding for our days.

But… in creating new habits, we are up against the efficiency of our brains, which like to follow the same old paths. We are often up against changes that are tied to our identity as a person and as a member of groups that know us “as we were.” These are some of the reasons why such a high percentage of New Year’s Resolutions fail to take long-term effect.

This January, you’re invited to take on your new habit with curiosity, tenacity, adaptability, and self-compassion, as if it were an interesting scientific experiment. We’ll draw from the wisdom of habit experts James Clear, Gretchen Rubin and others to bring in tips that help us to succeed.

Together we will accompany each other on the journey of creating a new habit, receiving accountability and encouragement from each other along the way.
