Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an intensive eight-week online program that empowers participants to take an active role in their health and wellness. This curriculum was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn to help participants transform their reactions to daily stress, anxiety, chronic pain, illness, and stress-related conditions, and is aimed at improving life at home, in social situations, and in the workplace. The course consists of intensive training in mindfulness meditation, gentle movement, and group support.
Through this course, participants will:
Learn to know themselves more fully,
Gain awareness of their habitual patterns in dealing with stress and develop new strategies,
Build a repertoire of mindfulness practices,
Receive encouragement and empowerment in cultivating their own mindfulness practice, incorporated into their daily life.
This program is offered in hospitals and other venues all over the United States, as well as in many other countries. 30-plus years of research have shown encouraging results pointing to marked improvements in participants’ physical and mental health.
