Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation

If ever there was a need for steadiness of mind and openness of heart, it is now. Current personal and global circumstances of change, uncertainty and upheaval are powerful mindfulness bells calling us to cultivate skillful responsiveness, resilience, adaptability, and kindness.

“Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation” is a start-point -- a threshold – into a clear and compassionate way of being with oneself and with all beings. With decreased emotional reactivity, there is increased insight … and, with insight, we begin to see the power that we have to heal, to grow and to connect.

Mindfulness practice cultivates our ability to:

-- be present to what is occurring,
-- engage with a sense of curiosity, and
-- to develop a sense of well-being that is sourced within oneself rather than on external circumstances.

Whether you are new to mindfulness meditation or a seasoned practitioner, this course offers an opportunity to cultivate and refresh your capacity for engagement, resiliency, and presence. Being awake to yourself and the world in this way enhances your sense of freedom, agency and conscious responsiveness to what is occurring within and all around.

Through teaching, discussion, meditation practice, and experiential exercises, this course is designed to assist and support participants in establishing and maintaining mindful awareness, as well as a beginning meditation practice.
